I Joined Remake’s Changemaker Program

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve officially joined the Remake Changemaker Program, a global community of young advocates working at the intersection of climate justice and human rights in the fashion industry!

This opportunity means a lot to me because I get to work alongside some of the most passionate changemakers from around the world, and also, it aligns so closely with the heart of why I started Avartana in the first place.

What Is Remake?

Remake is a nonprofit organization committed to transforming the fashion industry by exposing the harmful truths of fast fashion and pushing for a system that’s transparent and ethical. Their work centers around two major issues:

  • The climate crisis caused by overproduction, waste, and resource exploitation

  • The injustices faced by garment workers, especially women in the Global South who are underpaid and overlooked by major brands

Rather than simply telling people to “shop better,” Remake takes a bigger-picture approach. They focus on:

  • Legislative advocacy (like supporting the FABRIC Act in the U.S.)

  • Brand accountability reports

  • Educational content and storytelling that uplifts garment worker voices

  • Community organizing, especially through their Changemaker Program

When I launched Avartana, I didn’t just want to post facts about sustainable fashion; I wanted to build a movement that felt rooted in real impact and accessibility.

Through all of this, I realized how important community and credible information are in driving change, which is exactly what Remake offers.

What I’ll Be Doing as a Changemaker

As part of Remake’s program, I’ll gain access to:

  • A global network of like minded advocates

  • Workshops, webinars, and events focused on education and action

  • Toolkits and resources to help me organize in my community and online

This means you’ll be seeing a lot more Avartana content connected to:

  • Garment worker justice

  • Legislation that impacts fashion systems

  • Real ways young people can get involved

Whether it's through technology or advocacy, I’m ready to take Avartana to the next level with Remake by my side.
